skThe main focus of the conference is defined on regional and global security issues that directly concern Slovakia, as well as on various dialogues that are focused on solving problems from the perspective of Slovakia as a member of NATO and the EU. The seventeenth year will bring several unique contributions and constructive debates from experts from the scientific research environment, academia, members of non-governmental organizations and, last but not least, active young leaders in security policy and international relations.
One of the main goals of SBF 2023 is to create a platform for an open discussion on the development of the priorities of the defence and security policy of the Slovak Republic as a member of NATO and the EU and to retrospectively evaluate 30 years of security in Slovakia. The conference is therefore divided into three-panel discussions, in which speakers from the governmental, non-governmental and academic spheres will have the opportunity to discuss the most current challenges facing the Slovak Republic as one of the members of NATO and the EU.
The accompanying event of the Round Table of Young Leaders, which proved to be a unique format for previous discussions during previous years of the project, is also inextricably linked to the SBF. The direct round table discussion will allow participants to share their views on different topics. Emphasis will be placed on young leaders, in order to bring to the issue their pre-developed recommendations and proposals to address the problems related to the influence of external actors on the young generation, which forms the basis of the future political scene.
